Geneva, Switzerland. – The Innovation Forum for the transformation of key sectors in Europe and Central Asia. Organized by FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations) and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), it was held virtually on September 23, 2021, as part of the ITU Regional Innovation Forum for Europe-Asia 2021.
Within this forum, the Spanish startup BrioAgro has been selected in the category of “Agricultural Innovation Systems and Sustainable Agriculture” due to its good practices in water usage in agriculture, applied by its irrigation robotics, in response to the global trend of water scarcity. The Honorable Mention, which it has been awarded, adds to the prize it received a few months ago from EIT Food as the most outstanding startup for solving the water scarcity challenge in Southern Europe. In this way, the Andalusian-origin startup continues to gain recognition across more borders.
This edition of the ITU Regional Innovation Forum for Europe and Central Asia brought together regional stakeholders to share knowledge and provide much-needed opportunities for leaders and innovators across all sectors to pioneer new approaches, share best practices, and promote these new solutions.
