BrioAgro participates in this EIT Foods program called Test Farms, to demonstrate its technology to Tepro Agricultural Consultants, the video shows Finca El Pino, where this A/B TEST is being carried out in the year 2021. Parallel to this, another A/B TEST has been initiated by Tepro Agricultural Consultants in another farm (Finca El Judío), in this case with industrial tomato.
In addition to carrying out the contrast test to prove savings, BrioAgro has installed the latest generation of low-cost irrigation programmers/actuators to be able to activate irrigation in its sector, without changing the current habits of the farm irrigator, and thus be able to demonstrate the results of water, energy and fertilizer savings at the end of the 2021 campaign.
In tests carried out in olive orchards with deficit irrigation, BrioAgro has achieved savings of more than 20%, minimizing fertilizer percolation by 70%.
BrioAgro is currently carrying out a multi-year R+D+i project co-funded by the CDTi and with the technological support of CiTOLIVA (to determine the optimum time to harvest olives with the highest quality)
